A very nice hardback book which covers the life of one of the 20th centuries most colourful characters and most famous interior designers. Taken from from the book cover the description is as follows - "Elsie de Wolfe (aka Lady Mendl) is a legend in the world of interior design." She was one of the most successful and famous practitioners in the first half of the 20th century. She made chintz fashionable, advocated the use of mirrors and trompe l'oeil, raised stripes to stardom, brought trellis indoors and put animal print on chairs, cushions and carpets. Lavishly illustrated with colour photographs and paintings of her designs, 150 pages. A wonderful addition to any designers library.
